Trotwood Dollar General customer says robber pointed gun at her

A woman said a man in a Halloween mask pointed a gun at her tonight as she tried to enter a Dollar General store.

A robbery was reported shortly before 8 p.m. at the store, 4000 Salem Ave., in Trotwood. City police and a K-9 unit from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were called to the store. Police were looking for possibly two suspects, according to initial reports.

“The guy came out and pointed the gun at me and told me to get on the ground,” said a woman who called this newsroom who declined to give her name. Instead of getting on the ground, the woman said she ran to the side of the building, and later ran back to her car.

She described the gunman as short and wearing a Halloween mask that covers the nose and mouth openings. He was carrying a small handgun and possibly had an accomplice. She said she heard the gunman say to another person who possibly had a “J” name that “we’ve got to go.”

We are waiting for a callback from Trotwood police to learn more about the suspects and the robbery.
