Troy man sentenced to 2 years for sex with a teen

A Troy man was sentenced Monday to two years in prison for sex with a teen girl from Troy.

Ryan M. Lacey, 24, had pleaded no contest and was found guilty in Miami County Common Pleas Court of felony unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. The girl told Troy police she had talked with Lacey on Facebook before he picked her up near her home one day. She said she did not consent to the sexual conduct.

Lacey told Judge Christopher Gee he had learned from his "honest mistake."

The girl's parents said in a written statement read in court that their daughter was a victim of an "epidemic of adult men preying on young girls."

Lacey was classified a Tier II sex offender requiring registration with the sheriff for 25 years after prison release. He was given credit for 41 days served in jail.
