Raw: Victim in Trotwood shooting suffers multiple wounds

Victim shot twice in Trotwood home invasion

The victim in the shooting, a 29-year-old male, was shot twice and taken to Miami Valley Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to Deputy Chief John Porter, with the Trotwood Police Department.

Porter said two black male suspects forced entry into the home, demanding money from the male victim and his wife. The male was shot in the right ankle and lower left back/hip area, he said.

The wife and three young children, who also were in the home, were not injured. The suspects were wearing black masks; no other description was available.

Porter said the circumstances surrounding the incident leads him to believe it was not a random act.

Porter said the suspects got away property, and K9s were sent out in the area. The wife is being cooperative with investigators, he said.

Police and medics in Trotwood have responded to a reported shooting in the 5400 block of Basore Road.

Emergency crews were dispatched around 4:25 a.m. on a reported shooting.

Initial reports indicate the homeowners woke up with guns pointed at them from at least one person who broke in.

The condition of the victim was not immediately known, but is reportedly suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

We have a crew heading to the scene and we’ll update this page when new information is available.
