Woman pleads guilty in cheating Mason family out of Disney vacation

More that a year after allegations were made and theft charges filed, a former Liberty Twp. woman has pleaded guilty in Warren County Common Pleas Court to cheating a Mason family out of a Disney vacation.

Lisa M. Andres, 42, was indicted in February 2014 for felony theft and misdemeanor theft in connection with taking money for vacations and failing to book rooms. On Monday morning, Andres entered a guilty plea to the fourth-degree felony.

Andres was arrested in December 2014 after Mason police received a report from a woman who said she had not received payment for a botched family trip to Walt Disney World Resort.

Last month, Andres was sentenced to four years in prison in Butler County Common Pleas Court after pleading guilty to nine of 39 charges against her, including theft, grand theft, theft from an elderly person or disabled adult and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.

Butler County prosecutors said Andres ran a vacation scam that bilked several families in their county out of money. The courtroom was packed with victims who said they lost there means to enjoy family vacations and also money invested in Andres’ travel business that turned out to be bogus.

Andres was arrested on the Butler County charges in May 2014 at a Hollywood Casino, where police and prosecutors believe she spent much of the money taken from victims.

Warren County Judge Donald Oda sentenced Andres to 12 months in prison to run concurrent with the Butler County sentence.

In January 2014, Andres also pleaded guilty to four counts of forgery, fifth-degree felonies, in Butler County Common Pleas Court for forging signatures to withdraw $1,600.20 from her disabled sister’s Social Security benefits account, according to court documents. Oney placed Andres on five years community control for the forgery charges.
