Youth on bike says he didn’t steal it, but it wasn’t his

ENGLEWOOD – A victim, whose son’s bicycle was stolen from their Union home, said he saw the bike being ridden by a teenager on Overla Drive at Locust Hill Drive.

Police found the suspect with two other males on foot, with the bike nearby. The suspect said not only did he not steal the bike, he had not received it from someone else and had not ridden it.

However, an officer said he had seen the youth ride the bike a few days before prior to the vehicle being entered as a stolen item, making the youth’s statement bogus.

Despite his protestations, the youth was arrested for receiving stolen property and taken to the Juvenile Detention Center. And a young boy in Union was reunited with his transportation.
