CSU Student Killed In Dayton Crash

A local college student is dead and two others were injured after a single-car crash in Dayton Tuesday morning.

The crash happened at the intersection of Gettysburg and Second streets when the car crashed into a utility pole.

Police said the driver of the car, a Central State student, fell asleep at the wheel and lost control. The two passengers were Central State students as well.

The student in the front passenger seat will pronounced dead at the hospital, and police said the driver and rear seat passenger were injured, but not severely hurt.

Officers said the rear passenger was not wearing a seatbelt, and acted as a "missile," striking the front passenger on impact. Police said the victim is identified as 23-year-old Meshawn Q. Brown.
