Dayton Electrician Busted For Stealing Power

An electrician in Dayton was busted for stealing power from a home to save his own food.

Police said Charles Walker, 46, hard-wired an electrical line from a neighbor's home to his house on Germantown Street.

He told police that his power had been knocked out since Sunday's storm and he didn't want his food to spoil.

Walker said the home he took the electricity from wouldn't be charged because he bypassed the meter.

Walker is charged with stealing power from the Dayton Power and Light Company.
