Major Highway Incidents

Surface Street Incidents

  • At Salem and Victoria avenues in Dayton, the traffic light is out. As of 7:15 a.m., crews estimated the light would be out for several hours. Stop signs are being placed at the intersection.
  • On River Road in Clark County, just west of U.S 68, it was reported around 6:45 a.m. that a vehicle is in a creek.
  • Ongoing Construction & Other Closures

    MONTGOMERY COUNTY

    • I-75 between Third Street and Main Street, overnight traffic pattern change June 2 – 3. Crews will be shifting northbound traffic onto the newly constructed northbound side of the interstate. Drivers should be aware there will be a new traffic pattern for the morning commute June 3. More information can be found here.

    I-75 north between Edwin C. Moses Boulevard and SR 4, overnight lane closures June 2 at 8 p.m. through June 3 at 6 a.m. One northbound lane will remain open at all times.

    The exit ramp from northbound I-75 to westbound U.S. 35 in Dayton is expected to be closed until November.

  • The Webster Street bridge is closed as it is rebuilt. A detour will take motorists to Keowee Street to Monument Avenue. The project is scheduled to be completed in November of 2017
  • East River Road between Dryden Road and Arbor Boulevard, road closed until July 7. The official detour is Dryden Road to Arbor Boulevard to East River Road.
  • I-75 northbound ramp to US 35 westbound, ramp closed until Oct. 31. The official detour is I-75 north to U.S. 35 east to Jefferson Street to Washington Street to Ludlow Street to U.S. 35 west.
  • SR 48 north between Rockridge Road and Hillgrove Avenue, lane closure until July 31. One northbound lane will remain open.
  • Third Street between Edwin C. Moses Boulevard and Perry Street, lane closures through September. One lane will remain open in each direction.
  • I-70 between Airport Access Road and SR 48, lane addition project. Two lanes open in each direction. Motorists will encounter barrels and construction in this area.
  • The ramp from U.S. 35 eastbound to I-75 northbound, ramp closed through September 2017. Motorists will be able to utilize the specially designed U-turn lane located at the Edwin C. Moses Boulevard exit.
  • Robert Drive between Fifth Street and Third Street road closed through September of 2017. The detour is Southbound — Perry Street to Fourth Street, Northbound — Fifth Street to Wilkinson.
  • The First Street, Second Street and Third Street ramps along I-75 northbound and southbound, are permanently closed. A newly constructed ramp is scheduled to open to motorists in the downtown area in December of 2016. The official detour during these ramp closures is: I-75 North to U.S. 35 East to Jefferson Street to First and Third streets. Motorists can also use Main Street or Edwin C. Moses Boulevard.
  • Vista View Drive between Second Street and Third Street, road closed through September of 2017. Detour posted.
  • Red Cross Lane between First Street and Gibbs Lane, road closed through September 2016. The official detour is: First Street to Perry Street to Second Street to Red Cross Lane.
  • MIAMI COUNTY

    • I-75 at CR 25A (Troy), width restrictions March 29 through Oct. 31. Northbound lanes will be restricted to 13 feet. Southbound lanes will be restricted to 12 feet. Two lanes will remain open in each direction with one northbound lane shifted to the southbound side and one northbound lane operating on the northbound side. Two southbound lanes will also be open on the southbound side.
    • I-75 south ramp to CR 25A near Troy, ramp closed March 21 through Oct. 28. The official detour is I-75 south to SR 41 to I-75 north to CR 25A.

    DARKE COUNTY

    • SR 47 between Beisner Road and Coppess Road, bridge closed May 25 - June 15. The official detour is: SR 118 to SR 705 to U.S. 127.
    • District-wide microsurfacing project on Champaign SR 814, Champaign SR 560, Champaign SR 235, Clark SR 235, Miami SR 48, Darke SR 118 and Darke SR 121. Various lane closures through July 30 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.
    • SR 47 between SR 118 and Tiger Way in Ansonia, road closure through Aug. 31. The official detour is: SR 118 to SR 705 to US 127.

    MERCER COUNTY

    • No current projects that could impact traffic are either active or scheduled in Mercer County.

    CLARK COUNTY

    • I-70 east and west between SR 72 and SR 41, lane closures through June 3 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Two lanes will remain open in each direction.
    • SR 41 between Titus Road/Ridge Road and Gateway Boulevard, lane closures until July 14. Traffic will be shifted to one side of the bridge. One lane will remain open in each direction.

    CHAMPAIGN COUNTY

    • Districtwide chip and seal project on Logan SR 287, Champaign SR 29, Champaign SR 245, Champaign SR 559 and Clark SR 41. Various lane closures April 18 – Sept. 30 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. One lane will remain open in each direction through the use of flaggers.
    • District Wide- Micro surfacing project on Champaign SR 814, Champaign SR 560, Champaign SR 235, Clark SR 235, Miami SR 48, Darke SR 118 and Darke SR 121. Various lane closures through July 30 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

    AUGLAIZE COUNTY

    • District Wide- Shoulder Closures on I-75 in Mercer, Shelby and Auglaize Counties, Auglaize U.S. 33, Mercer SR 29, and Darke U.S. 127. Various shoulder closures May 16th – July 15th between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Lanes will remain open, but the shoulders will be closed.
    • I-75 between SR 274 and National Road, daily lane closures through July 29 between the hours of 3 a.m. and 3 p.m. One lane will remain open in each direction.
    • I-75 between U.S. 33 and Bellefontaine Street, Nightly lane closures May 16 – June 18 between the hours of 6 p.m. and 7 a.m. Two lanes will remain open.
    • I-75 between U.S. 33 and Bellefontaine Street, lane width restriction May 16 – June 18. Lanes will be restricted to 11 feet with a 1 foot shoulder.
    • U.S. 33 east near Blackhoof Street, lane closure May 16 – June 17. One eastbound lane will remain open.

    UPCOMING CLOSURES

    • I-75 south ramp to U.S. 35 east, ramp closed June 3 at 9 p.m. through June 4 at 5 a.m. The official detour is: I-75 south to Edwin C. Moses Boulevard U-turn lane to I-75 north to U.S. 35 east.
    • Main Street Ramp to I-75 south, overnight ramp closure June 3rd at 9 p.m. through June 4 at 5 a.m. The official detour is: Main Street to I-75 north to Stanley Avenue to I-75 south.
    • SR 4 south Ramp to I-75 south, ramp closure June 3 at 9 p.m. through June 4 at 5 a.m. The official detour is: SR 4 to I-75 north to Stanley Avenue to I-75 south.
    • I-75 south between SR 4 and Edwin C. Moses Boulevard, overnight lane closures June 3 from 8 p.m. through June 4 at 6 a.m. This will become a double lane closure between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. One southbound lane will remain open at all times.
    • I-75 North ramp to SR 4, overnight ramp closed June 2 at 9 p.m. through June 3 at 5 a.m. The official detour is: I-75 north to Stanley Avenue to I-75 south to SR 4.
    • I-75 North ramp to Main Street, ramp closed June 2 at 9 p.m. through June 3 at 5 a.m. The official detour is: I-75 north to Stanley Avenue to I-75 south to Main Street.
    • U.S. 35 west ramp to I-75 North, ramp closed June 2 at 9 p.m. through June 3 at 5 a.m. The official detour is: U.S. 35 west to I-75 south to Edwin C. Moses Boulevard U-Turn lane to I-75 north.
    • Darke County — SR 47 between Greenlawn Avenue and Water Street, bridge closed June 14 – July 11. The detour is: U.S. 127 to SR 121 to SR 185.
