Delay Requested In James Clay Trial

There was a last minute delay in Tuesday’s scheduled start of the sexual battery case against former Troy Christian basketball coach James Clay.

The defense wanted time to have the music compact disc reviewed by a crime lab. The CD was obtained by the prosecution late last week. It was given to the prosecutor by the victim.

Attorneys are not talking about the significance of the music.

Potential jurors and attorneys were prepared to begin the trial when the defense asked for a delay. The new trial date is set for June 17.
