Demolition Of Old Hotel Means More Jobs, Money

More money and jobs are expected to be coming to the city of West Carrollton. The money and jobs will be the result of an old eyesore being replaced by new development.

Officials said the old Ramada Inn off Route 725 near Interstate 75 is being demolished after years of being an eyesore.

According to officials, Interstate Ford, which is located down the road, is building a new 56,000-square-foot showroom and dealership on the property of the old hotel.

John Snealling said Interstate Ford currently employees 135 people. He said the dealership is anticipating increased sales and service, which will result in increased jobs.

The city of West Carrollton got about $50,000 in taxes from the old hotel. With the dealership in its place, the amount may double.

At this time, the dealership is located in Miamisburg. Is there a concern that Miamisburg will be hurt because of the move? Interstate Ford says no because they plan to keep its body shop at the current location or to sell the property.

Interstate Ford is expected to be in its new located by late this year or early next year.
