Dayton Schools Prepare For Year-Round Calendar

For the first time in many years, all Dayton Public School students will attend class year round. School begins Aug. 8 and district officials are worried that parents and students will be confused.

If Dayton residents are in need of registering their children, the following locations will be available for registration:

Loos Elementary School - July 26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The school is located at 45 Wampler Ave. Meadowdale Elementary School - July 28 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The school is located at 4448 Thompson

Parents and guardians should bring the following to the registration events:

Proof of residence (like a utility, not older than six weeks) Child's shot records Birth certificate Child's Social Security card

For students in grades 9-12, parents should also bring a copy of withdrawal papers and/or last grade report card (for grade verification).
