Erica Collura

Storm Center 7 Meteorologist

BIO

I joined WHIO-TV and Storm Center 7 in August 2010. I also forecast the weather on 7 Weather Now, and report on environmental stories during the week.

I earned my degree in meteorology from Penn State University, with a focus on forecasting and broadcasting. During my four years at Penn State, I spent most of my time learning everything I could about weather. I presented weather forecasts for CNET, a local channel in State College, PA, Campus Weather Service, the largest student-run organization in the United States, and reported for PSN-TV on news around campus.

I truly could not imagine doing anything else. I love helping people plan their day by forecasting the weather. This is one of few fields where continued learning is constant, and that is something I enjoy. I am excited to live in Ohio and experience everything Dayton has to offer.

When I’m not forecasting the weather, I spend my time trying new things, traveling, working out, shopping and doing anything outdoors. During the winter, you can find me skiing on the nearest slopes every chance I can get.
