Fairborn seeks hire of city manager by end of February

Fairborn’s mayor says the city intends to hire a new city manager by the end of February.

Mayor Dan Kirkpatrick said the consultant company hired by the city to assist in finding a new manager has received applications for the job left vacant last year.

“We’re in the process of weeding out the best,” Kirkpatrick said. “We hope to have a new city manager by the end of next month, first of March.”

Interim City Manager Pete Bales, who is filling in following ex-manager Deb McDonnell’s departure to a new city, is an applicant for the position.
