Fire Departments from the Indiana side of Union City, along with Ohio fire departments from Ansonia, Rossburg, Greenville, Liberty Township, New Madison and Burkettsville all responded to help.
As far as a damage estimate, Assistant Union City Fire Chief Mark Wright said, "It'll be high, into the six-digits."
When the firefighters from Union City first arrived, the metal building was engulfed in flames.
Investigators are expected to return to the scene Saturday morning, in daylight, to search for the cause of the fire.
There were no injuries.
Crews cleared the scene by 6 p.m., reopening Route 571 to traffic.
