Former chief of staff at Miami Valley Hospital dies

A former Miami Valley Hospital chief of staff and prominent Dayton-area doctor has died.

Bill Stalter, who practiced as an Ob-Gyn for more than 30 years, died Saturday. He was 75-years old.

Stalter delivered more than 6,000 babies over the course of his career. He also served as president of the Montgomery County Medical Society, was a long-time member of the American College of Ob-Gyns and served on the board of the American Pro-Life Ob-Gyn Society.

Stalter went on to start the Miami Valley Women’s Center and he also helped to bring ultrasound technology to the Miami Valley.

Stalter was a 1959 Fairview High School graduate. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Ohio State University in 1963 and went on to graduate from OSU’s medical school.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. today at Fairhaven Church, 637 E. Whipp Road, Centerville.
