Montgomery County’s record number of drug overdose deaths this year may grow if Miami Twp. police’s suspicions are right.

Police said they believe two men found dead in an extended stay hotel near the Dayton Mall died as a result of drug use, but causes of death are still pending, according to the county coroner’s office.

It will be several weeks, the coroner’s office said Friday, before a ruling will be made to determine if the James A. Beeler, 48. and Londen L. Baver, 42, will be added to the county’s record of more than 349 accidental overdoses.

The bodies of Beeler and Baver were discovered shortly after 1:30 p.m. May 23 in a room at the at InTown Suites, 8981 Kingsridge Drive, police records show. Police said early indications are the deaths are drug-related, although a Miami Twp. report obtained Friday on the incident did not mention drug use.

The two lived together in the hotel room, according to police.
