Get ready: Black Friday ads expected to surface in coming days

As the calendar turns to November, shoppers are gearing up to hit stores this holiday shopping season.

The average consumer is expected to spend more than $1,007 on holiday purchases, including gifts, food and other holiday goods, according to the National Retail Federation.

In recent years, sales have continued to inch earlier in the season, but they still center on Thanksgiving and Black Friday. However, 21 percent of people told NRF they started shopping in September or earlier — some to spread out their budgets and others to avoid crowds and last-minute shopping stress.

While most stores haven't announced hours or released ads for Thanksgiving and Black Friday, BestBlackFriday.com expects ads to start surfacing as early as Nov. 1.

Every year, Best Black Friday uploads ads as they launch, keeping track of dates. While Kohl’s Black Friday ad was released last year on Oct. 26, Best Black Friday is expecting the ad to surface sometime around Nov. 1.

Other stores like Walmart and Target are anticipated to debut between Nov. 5 and Nov. 9, and Best Buy’s ad will likely launch during the second week of November, according to the website.

This news organization will continue updating as stores announce store hours and reveal ads. Best Black Friday expects the list of stores closing on Thanksgiving Day to reach more than 100 by the time the holiday rolls around.

A.C. Moore, Ace Hardware, At Home, Burlington, Costco, Home Depot and Lowe’s are among the many that said they will close on Thanksgiving.
