Goodwill Easter Seals leader exits, search begins for new CEO

The search for a new president and CEO for Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley has begun, officials said.

A farewell receptions was held Tuesday for current president and CEO Amy Luttrell, who will leave the post June 13 to take a similar position with Goodwill Industries of Kentucky.

A national search firm has been hired and they have just started the process of looking for viable candidates, according to Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley spokeswoman Kim Bramlage.

“We would like to find someone as soon as possible, but I anticipate that it will actually be the fall before we have someone named,” Bramlage said.

Fall is when the organization’s new 80,000-square-foot, $11 million human services center is set to open on South Main Street in Dayton.

“We fully anticipate being in the new building at the end of October so construction is right on schedule,” Bramlage said.

In a release, Luttrell said it’s been a privilege to serve the Miami Valley community.

“There are so many wonderful people here who want to make life better for people who have disabilities or other challenges,” said Luttrell.

When Luttrell started in 1979, the organization served 1,200 people, now it serves 15,000 people, Bramlage said.

“Luttrell has been a great leader and we have expanded our services and programs with her leading our agencies,” Bramlage said.
