Greenville Police Department Almost Back To Full Staff

Greenville Mayor Mike Bowers administered four separate oaths of office Monday morning in city council chambers to two new police officers, a new sergeant and to a new lieutenant.

The new patrolman included Jennifer Freeman and Dale Mike Dickman. Both come to the Greenville police force qualified from smaller police departments fully certified as police officers.

Promoted to sergeant was Patrolman Dean Flanery and to the rank of lieutenant was Sgt. Steve Strick.

The department has one more patrolman position to fill. The authorized number of sworn police officers for Greenville, with a population of over 13,000, is 25 to include the Police Chief Dennis Butts
