Hamilton brewery to be part of new Cincinnati beer festival

Sixteen local breweries, including a Hamilton brewery that opened this past summer, will line Mehring Way on Nov. 25-26 for the first Ale to the Queen City beer festival.

Municipal Brew Works, which opened in June in Hamilton's former municipal building at 20 High St., will be part of the festival during Thanksgiving weekend that will also feature food and music.

Rivertown Brewing Co., which plans to build a new brewery in Monroe, in also set to be a part of Ale to the Queen City beer festival, according to the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber.

Other breweries participating include Blank Slate, Braxton, Christian Moerlein, Fifty West, MadTree, Mt. Carmel, Nine Giant, Old Firehouse, Rhinegeist, Sam Adams, Streetside, Taft’s Ale House, Urban Artifact and Woodburn, according to the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber.

The festival will feature more than 35 craft beers from those breweries, Cynthia Oxley, the director of Ale to the Queen City, stated in a press release.

The Menus, Naked Karate Girls, Cherry on Top and Flip Cup All-Stars will perform live music at the festival, and local food will be sold on-site as well.

It will take place from 4 to 11 p.m. each day on Merhing Way between Elm Street and the Roebling Bridge.

Ale to the Queen City is part of Home, a new initiative to showcase Cincinnati’s food, drink, music, art and shopping options for those coming home for the Thanksgiving weekend.
