Handicap sign stolen from parking lot

Sept. 1

A heavyset black man with a gray beard and T-shirt allegedly short changed the clerk at 8:55 a.m. at Frisch’s, 3560 Dixie Highway, by $100 after repeatedly changing the order through the carryout.

Someone stole an outside air conditioning unit before 1:50 p.m. from a home int he 1400 block of Calumet.

Someone kicked in the door at a home before 2:33 p.m. in the 500 block of Kensington Street and stole a computer and monitor. The victim believes their son committed the theft.

Someone stole a handicap parking sign, valued at $250, from the parking lot at U.D.F., 101 N. Verity Parkway.

A 26-year-old Middletown man was arrested at 6:32 p.m. near the intersection of Bonita Drive and South Breiel Boulevard on suspicion of trafficking in drugs (marijuana) and cited him for speeding and window tint.

While a patient at Atrium Medical Center, 1 Medical Center Drive, a Lebanon woman said someone stole her purse and used her credit cards. She believes it happened before 8:37 p.m. and believes a family member stole it.

Sept. 2

The theft of a car battery occurred before 8 a.m. from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of North Grimes Street. The victim said his vehicle had been broken into several times previously.

Someone stole two fishing poles and a reel before 8:52 p.m. from a home in the 1700 block of Taylor Avenue. The poles were sitting on the front porch.

A laptop was stolen before 11:43 p.m. from a home in the 3100 block of Wilbraham Road.

Sept. 4

A 37-year-old Monroe man was arrested at 11 p.m. in the 4300 block of Tytus Avenue on suspicion of operating a vehicle while impaired and resisting arrest.

Sept. 5

A 33-year-old Middletown man was arrested at 1:54 a.m. in the 600 block of North Verity Parkway on suspicion of receiving stolen property. Police said he was in possession of a stolen lawn mower and two stolen weed eaters. Police asked him where he got the property, he said, according to the report, “he had just grabbed it and that it did not belong to him. However, he did not see any problem taking it with him.”

Someone stole a radio from a truck before 8:30 a.m. parked in the 800 block of Auburn Street. Access was gained through the passenger-side window.

Someone stole an air conditioner window unit before 11:32 a.m. from an apartment in the 600 block of Lafayette Avenue. A window was broken during the theft.

Someone took all of the copper water pipes before 12:23 p.m. in the basement of a home in the 600 block of Crawford Street. The outside access door to the basement was pried open.

An outside air conditioner, valued at $2,000, was stolen before 5:04 p.m. from a home in the 400 block of Shafor Street.
