Chairs Named For New Springfield Regional

William H. Ray, Jr., and his wife, Jeanne Lampe, of Springfield have been named the co-chairs of the capital campaign supporting the construction of the new Springfield Regional Medical Center.

“It is very exciting to be a part of this project,” said Ray. "This is one of the biggest economic development projects Springfield and Clark County have seen in the last 100 years.”

Ray, owner of Diamond Sales and Service, is a long-time Springfield resident and once served as Vice President of Sales for Embee Corporation in Springfield and Director of Membership for the Springfield Chamber of Commerce. Ray actively serves on a number of local boards and supports local organizations including the American Red Cross, YMCA, Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC), and Junior Achievement.

Lampe, a graduate of Springfield North High School, is President and CEO of 3G Graphics in Springfield. She is also a general and managing partner of Thornhill Farms in Clark County. Lampe previously served on the boards of the YMCA, Key Bank, United Way and the Clark State Foundation.

Her current board affiliations include the Ohio Equine and Agriculture Association, Springfield/Clark County Chamber of Commerce, Springfield/Clark County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Clark County Literacy Coalition.

“As a person who was born and raised in Springfield, I feel privileged and honored to have been asked to be involved in such an important aspect to the future of our community,” said Lampe. “I think our entire community should be elated about this incredible opportunity we have been given to make a significant advancement to our healthcare system in Clark and surrounding counties.”

Key features of the 475,000-square-foot, full service hospital includes 254 private rooms, an expanded emergency center, a dedicated women’s health pavilion, and wireless capabilities for staff and guests.

The new Springfield Regional Medical Center is scheduled to open in 2012.

“The new hospital will potentially touch every single citizen,” explained Ray. “We will have the most state-of-the-art healthcare facility available. It will have a significant effect on attracting and retaining quality doctors, nurses and other healthcare providers. Why wouldn’t everyone want to support such a project?”
