One of the donors is calling it a win-win center. Donating plasma helps save lives, and donors themselves get some extra cash for their efforts.
The Moore family is thankful for the plasma center. The donors helped save 17-year-old Kinsey Moore’s life. Several times, as a child, she was on the brink of death, but a monthly dose of donated plasma helped her grow up healthy.
Kinsey Moore said, “I don’t remember how sick I was.”
The new plasma center is located at the intersection of Free Pike and Salem Avenue in Dayton, and is one of 60 similar centers nationwide.
The plasma is collected in less than an hour, and the donor is compensated for their time.
Donors who News Center 7 spoke to said the money is nice, but the idea of helping is the real reason they come.
The center has been open for several months, but the official ribbon-cutting was held on Tuesday.
