The welding equipment operation, which produces products under the Hobart Welding Products name, will relocate to 2200 Corporate Drive near the company’s Kings Chapel plant.
All jobs involved in the solid wire and welding equipment operations will remain in Troy. Hobart Brothers has also offered manufacturing positions to many employees from Hobart Ground Power to help minimize job loss associated with that relocation.
Hobart Brothers has been experiencing significant growth this year, also recently adding 65 temporary employees to its permanent workforce.
“We are excited that we have the opportunity to move these operations into more updated facilities,” says Mark Thibeault, Hobart Brothers. “But even better is the fact that we can keep jobs in Troy, which is critical to us. We believe strongly in this community and in employing those within it.”
Plans for the Main Street facility are still to be determined, but the goal is to have all current solid wire and welding equipment operations out of the building by June 2013.
