Due to extreme heat and humidity, thunderstorms can be expected for the end of the week.
Storm Center 7 meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs advises avoiding strenuous activity outdoors and work if it can be avoided.
If you plan on being outdoors, you should wear light colors, hats and sunglasses while taking breaks, drinking lots of water and working in the shade to help avoid some of the heat.
With the heat and humidity being high, it can take only 10 minutes for a car to reach temperatures of more than 100 degrees.
Humidity this high can make it difficult to breathe for those with disabilities, the elderly and young children.
Vrydaghs suggests going swimming, going into air conditioned buildings and drinking lots of water to help stay cool during the hot weather.
