Journey of Hope in America Exhibit Afro-American Museum & Cultural Center Wilberforce, Ohio

Fourth Annual Stephen Schwartz Musical Theatre Scholarship Competition Human Race Theatre Company

Date: Through February 1, 2011 Cost: Free The competition is open to musical theatre majors or prospective majors who either live in Montgomery County or one of the seven bordering counties, or who attend college in one of those areas. In previous years, the scholarship -- inspired by The Human Race's premiere 2007 presentation of Schwartz's "Snapshots: A Musical Scrapbook" -- has awarded $18,000 to 23 deserving competitors. Auditions for "Pinkalicious" Town Hall Theatre 27 N. Main Street, Centerville

Date: January 10-11, 2011 Time: 7:00pm Cost: Free Based on true stories recounted in the book of the same name, "A Piece of My Heart" follows six women as they relive their memories of serving in Vietnam during the 1960s. Winter Seminars Osher Lifelong Learning Institute University of Dayton

Date: January 11-February 17, 2011 Time: Varies Cost: Varies The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Dayton, a community outreach program that brings people to campus to participate in seminars led mostly by other volunteers, is offering a winter program. Participation has more than tripled since March 1994, when UD piloted the peer-run program. Bicycle/Pedestrian Task Force Fairborn City Council Chamber 44 W. Hebble Ave.

Date: January 25, 2011 Time: 7:00pm Cost: Free As Fairborn seeks to increase its bicycle and pedestrian pathway opportunities, the City is seeking volunteers to serve on a Bikeway/Pedestrian Advisory Task Force. This task force will be an extension of the Bicycle Friendly Community Action Plan Team originally formed to assist in the update of the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission's Regional Bikeway Plan, as well as the development of area-specific plans for participating jurisdictions completed in late 2008. The plans provide participating jurisdictions with specific tools, design standards and guidelines for branching off the recreational trails onto networks of bike-friendly roads and streets. Music Makers (ages 4-6 1/2) is a high energy class that helps your child discover rhythm, pitch and musical patterns, laying the foundation for future musical study. Wednesday Workshop: Cyanotype with Paula Kraus ArtStreet Studio E University of Dayton
