A portion of Calumet Lane collapsed Wednesday due to high rain in the area, officials said.

Repair work was expected to begin Thursday.

A Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputy reported around 3:50 p.m. that the road had “collapsed in” in the 500 block of Calumet Lane to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

Calumet Lane is not closed, but road crews used orange construction barriers and cones to block the unsafe portion of the street.

There was no word on how long the repair would take.
