Jumping out of a plane

Could someone explain how four education professionals jumping from an airplane and parachuting to Earth is supposed to show their seriousness about education? Looks like another perk for people who are already pretty well compensated. How about a cook, a custodian or a bus driver being given a free parachute trip? And The Journal gives this sort of thing a thumbs up? ...

People complaining about the King of Kings statue need to realize that it will be replaced with insurance money. This money can't be used to give to the poor or for any other purpose.

Regarding the railroad crossing in Oneida: I'm sure our city manager has never been down there. There are a lot of people who walk across those tracks daily. Closing those tracks won't stop people from crossing them. At least if the tracks are open, people have a chance — with the lights and ringing bells — to hear the trains coming.

I read the fun summer things to do in The Journal on July 12, but noticed no activities for the city of Middletown. There are plenty of things to do in Middletown and I think it's only fair to list them.

The people who travel on University Boulevard would appreciate an update from the city. It's been torn up for weeks. We see a couple of hard hats walking around but no new progress. We'd like to know what the plans are.
