Juergens is the executive director of the American Lung Association in Cincinnati. She previously held several positions with the American Red Cross including the executive director job in Rio Grande Valley region of Texas from 2014 through 2016, according to her LinkedIn profile.

She previously served on several area boards including the Dayton Hispanic Chamber, the Dayton Council on World Affairs and Girl Scouts of Western Ohio, among others.

In recent years, Central State struggled financially because of enrollment declines and students’ difficulty in qualifying for federal financial aid. CSU’s financial position improved last year though as the state removed the school from fiscal watch.
