Beavercreek works to replace assistant school superintendent

The Beavercreek City School District will begin the replacement process for Assistant Superintendent Susan Hayward next week.

The efforts follow Hayward’s acceptance of a new position in the Toledo-area.

The assistant superintendent position will be posted on the Dayton Area School Employment Consortium and will be advertised to interested and qualified persons online through state professional organizations, like the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) and the Buckeye Association of School Administrators (BASA), according to Ryan Gilding, public relations specialist at Beavercreek City Schools.

Hayward was named the superintendent for Washington Local Schools, a school district about the same size as Dayton Public Schools, on June 8.

She also applied for the Dayton Public Schools' superintendent position, and was named one of the six finalists last week.

Hayward will begin work at Washington Local as early as July 11. Her contract with the district begins Aug. 1.

“An offer of employment (for Beavercreek’s assistant superintendent position) will be made by early July and a recommendation for employment made to the BOE for the July 21 regular meeting,” said Gilding.
