Troy hires assistant superintendent and high school principal

The Troy City Schools Board of Education hired Jeremy A. Miller of Beavercreek as the new district assistant superintendent during a special board meeting Thursday. Miller currently is the director of curriculum, instruction and assessment at the Centerville City Schools.

The board also hired Katherine Weaver as the new Troy High School principal. She currently is the assistant principal.

Miller, who will be paid $127,000 a year, was hired for a two-year contract effective Aug. 1. He will fill the assistant superintendent position that had been vacant since 2011.

Weaver, who will be paid $117,000 a year, also was hired for a two-year contract, effective Aug. 1. She fills the position vacated with the resignation of William Overla, who is going to the Miami Valley Career Technology Center.
