Evacuation possible due to flooding at Warren County mobile home park

Warren County Emergency Management and Turtlecreek Twp. Fire Department officials are monitoring flooding that could result in evacuation of the Shadow Lake Mobile Home Village.

On Tuesday morning, rain forecasts and the water levels at the park southwest of Lebanon were being eyed to determine whether an evacuation will be necessary, according to Melissa Bour, director of Warren County Emergency Services.

“No evacuations at this time. We are monitoring the rainfall along with the Turtlecreek Fire Department,” Bour said in an email.

Bour briefed the Warren County Board of Commissioners Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service was being consulted and American Red Cross contacted, in case residents need to be provided emergency shelter, Bour said.

The flooding builds as rainfall overcomes drains into the nearby creek, but quickly subsides during lulls, according to Bour and the community manager.

“That’ll go away in a heartbeat,” said the manager, who declined to identify himself.

The area along Butler-Warren Road was also flooding, Conty Administrator Tiffany Zindel said.

Elsewhere in Warren County, Bour said the Garfield Park neighborhood in Lebanon was under observation.
