Payroll Project: 11 public employees pass $100K mark in Troy

Of the 11 Troy city employees paid more than $100,000 last year, seven worked in the police department, one in the fire department, and the rest held administrative positions, according to a searchable database of payroll records assembled by the I-Team.

The number of police officers entering the six-figure club in Troy has increased by two since 2014 with the chief, four captains, a sergeant and a police officer making that pay grade.

The city of 25,058 residents had 150 public servants earning more than $50,000 in 2015, compared to 153 the year prior.

The five highest-paid Troy employees last year were:

1. City Manager Patrick Titterington: $159,274

2. Police Chief Charles Phelps: $117,923

3. Assistant City Manager Thomas Funderburg: $111,598

4. Police Captain Joseph Long: $109,349

5. Police Captain Christopher Anderson: $108,720
