Customers of the store at 1701 W. Dorothy Lane can now order items online and pick them up with a barcode sent to their smart phones. Employees will load the orders into the Pickup Tower after they’re placed.
“Technology is enabling customers to not only save money but to save time,” said Emily Hart, Walmart’s regional e-commerce manager. “Walmart is proud to offer innovations like the Pickup Tower to meet our customers’ needs whether they are shopping in person or ordering thru a smartphone app.”

Walmart plans to spend about $94 million over the next year in Ohio to remodel 27 stores and roll out new in-store and online technology. In total the company plans to spend $11.0 billion in fiscal year 2019.
Stores in Middletown, Fairfield Twp., Springfield and Franklin also have the technology among others in Ohio. There are 38 Walmart stores in the greater Dayton area, according to the company.
