$35,000 donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters Miami Valley

The Arby’s Foundation donated a $35,000 grant award to Big Brothers Big Sisters Miami Valley.

“Big Brothers Big Sisters works because of donors and supporters like the Arby’s Foundation,” said Anne Pfeiffer, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters Miami Valley. “Their commitment and investment to making a proven difference inspires and motivates us to do and achieve more every day. Because of their continued support, the lives of the children in our community are changing for the better, forever.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters Miami Valley has been providing mentoring services for 62 years and currently serves over 500 children. The mentoring program allows children to have guidance and support from an adult while facing challenging issues, such as  the COVID-19 pandemic, economic crisis and racism.

Curt Oxyer, vice president of AES Restaurant Group which locally owns and operates 26 Arby’s locations in the Miami Valley and 72 restaurants overall, said the important work of the adult mentors helps children be better equipped for life and its challenges.

“We believe every kid deserves to dream big and pursue their dreams with confidence, which is why we are proud supporters of Big Brothers Big Sisters,” Oxyer said.

Since 1986, the Foundation has been responsible for donating $9.2 million in grants to youth-related causes.
