ANZAC Day commemoration set for April 25 at AF Museum

Each year on April 25, Australians and New Zealanders commemorate ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) Day to recognize the sacrifices that Australian and New Zealand soldiers, sailors and Airmen have made – not only in defending their country but in upholding their nations’ longstanding commitment to peace and security.

To mark this special occasion for 2019, members of the Royal Australian Air Force based at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base are hosting an ANZAC Day commemoration at the Memorial Park of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force to which guests are invited. The presiding official will be Wing Commander Timothy Lewis.

Details of the events are:

• Early Morning Service – The traditional ANZAC Day Dawn Service will be held at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Valor Park within the Memorial Park from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Arrive by 7:45 a.m. for the service. Dress is 1A with medals or equivalent for military personnel.

• Gunfire Breakfast – At the conclusion of the service a Gunfire Breakfast from 8:30 to 9 a.m. will be hosted by RAAF members at Memorial Park.

Access to NMUSAF is available to the public. Following the service, all are welcome to remain at the museum, which opens at 9 a.m. Admission is free.
