2 arrested after search warrant served

Two people were arrested in Dayton on Friday after a search warrant was served at a residence on the 3000 block of Superba Court.

The Dayton Police Department’s Narcotics Bureau served the warrant after receiving word drug sales were being completed out of the apartment. Officers conducted surveillance on the residence and a search warrant was issued on Friday morning.

According to a Dayton police incident report, a team of police arrived at the apartment around 10 a.m. Officers eventually arrested 29-year-old Justin Taylor on suspicion of having weapons under disability, unlawful possession of a dangerous ordinance and possession of drugs.

Miranda Parker, 21, was also arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor permitting drug abuse, according to the report.

Small children were reportedly in the house at the time police arrived.

Four grams of crack cocaine, cash and a sawed-off shotgun were among the items found inside the residence. According to the police report, Taylor was asked why he was selling crack cocaine. He told them he has three daughters and Parker — his girlfriend — has three sons and he sold drugs to have enough money to provide for the children.

Taylor had previously been convicted of possession of drugs in Montgomery County, according to police.
