Owners with disputes urged to call for appointments.

The Montgomery County Auditor’s Office will begin taking questions — and any complaints — over recent property revalutions from home owners beginning Monday in Kettering, where residential values rose almost 10 percent – the highest in the county.

The first of 32 informal review sessions with auditor’s office representatives will be from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Presidential Banquet Center, 4548 Presidential Way. The sessions follow mailed notifications late last month of updated property values.

Owners who want to revisit the updated valuation with the office should first schedule an appointment by calling 937-225-5096. Some matters, such as a discrepancy in the square footage of a property, may be resolved over the phone, according to the auditor’s office.

The full-day sessions will be hosted at 15 locations across the county through Sept. 14. Both day and evening hours are available. A list of review locations was included on the mailed notices or can be found at the auditor’s website at www.mcauditor.org and navigate to the 2017 Triennial Property Update link.

Montgomery County residential property values rebounded from steep declines in recent years. More than 60 percent of county residential properties are valued higher than three years ago, representing “a significant turnaround for the county,” said Auditor Karl Keith.
