A boater discovered the body at about 2 p.m. Sunday. U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Gabriel Settel said the man could not be revived. His 26-foot Trojan boat was found near the body.
Erie County Sheriff's Capt. Paul Sigsworth said officials with the Ohio Division of Natural Resources are working to identify the person.
Erie County Corner Brian Baxter said the body was taken to a funeral home in Port Clinton. An autopsy will most likely take place on Tuesday.
