Boil advisory lifted in Miami Twp.

A boil advisory has been lifted for about 537 homes and businesses around the Crains Run area in Miami Twp.

Montgomery County Environmental Services issued a boil advisory at about 4 p.m. Monday after a drop in water system pressure occurred because of valve maintenance and complications related to a closeby construction site.

The department notified residents and business owners in the affected area that they needed to boil any water that would be used for eating, drinking, food preparation and oral hygiene.

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency considers any system that loses pressure to be total coliform positive.

The environmental services department said the advisory was lifted at noon today, and employees would distribute "all clear" door hangers to customers this afternoon.

The department apologized for any inconvenience the advisory caused.
