Boro Bistro to reopen near Dorothy Lane Market

Popular restaurant was forced to close earlier this year at its downtown location.

SPRINGBORO — The Boro Bistro is expected to reopen on North Main Street, near the Dorothy Lane Market. By the end of June, owner Corrie Hasenjar said she expects to open at 722 N. Main St., in a strip center south of the supermarket and next to Anytime Fitness and Wild Birds Unlimited locations.

“It’s wonderful they’re staying in town. I can’t wait for it to open,” At-Large Councilwoman Marie Belpulsi said at a June 3 council meeting.

On April 25, the bistro closed at 155 S. Main St. in the historic district after its five-year lease expired.

Hasenjar said the new restaurant would offer extended hours of operation, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, to offset higher rent expenses.

A full bar and sit-down dinner will supplement the bistro’s lunch traditions.

“You’re kind of just taking a leap of faith. That all my original customers will come back and I’ll get a lot of new customers,” she said.

Hasenjar looked forward to the opening of an El Pueblo and Sammy’s Burgers and Beers in the former Encore building in the same shopping center, but near Main and Remick Boulevard, the main entrance to the Settlers Walk development.

“The more draw that’s up that way, we can help each other out,” she said.
