Freedom Climb planned
The first Troy Memorial Freedom Climb to honor and remember firefighters, police and EMS members who gave their lives at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001 will be held Sept. 10. The event will be held at Troy Memorial Stadium where participants can climb the stairs at Troy Memorial Stadium 64 times or make four laps around the high school stadium track — the equivalent of climbing 1,980 steps of the World Trade Center Tower — or make four laps around the high school stadium track. Volunteers needed for donut event
Volunteers are being sought for the new Tour de Donut Bicycle Challenge. The bicycle activities will be held Sept. 16. Weekend events also will include a new Rock the Bike Music Festival on Sept. 15 and 16. Volunteers are needed to set up on Friday, tear down after the bicycle challenge, work with bands, assist with beer and wine sales and help check IDs.
