SPRINGBORO

New park construction underway

Work has begun at Hazel Woods Park, Springboro’s newest park, on Lower Springboro Road across the creek from Clearcreek Park.

Plans for Hazel Woods Park include a dog park, 12-15 soccer/LAX fields, picnic shelters, a concession stand, and paved walking trails. The dog park is expected to be completed first, in the next few months, weather permitting.

WEST CARROLLTON

Alex Road detours through May 12

Norfolk Southern Railroad Co. has scheduled maintenance and repair work on the Alex Road crossing through May 12. The road will be closed during the construction.

Detour signs will be posted. For drivers heading north on Alex Road, all vehicles can use Kimberly Lane to access Alex-Bell Road, with a right-turn only, towards Springboro Pike/741. However, south-bound Alex Road traffic will take E. Dixie Drive, to the right on Alex-Bell Road, and only non-commercial vehicles can turn right onto Kimberly Lane.

The construction schedule is weather dependent and determined by the railroad. Updates will be posted on www.westcarrollton.org.

LEBANON

Farmer’s Market returns May 18

The Lebanon Farmer’s Market will return for the 2017 growing season May 18. The market will run Thursdays from 3-7 p.m. in the parking lot at the corner of Main St. and Sycamore St.

Visitors can select from a wide variety of produces, baked goods, honey, jams, meats, flowers and more.

Drinking water quality report available

Lebanon has prepared a water quality report to provide information on the quality the city’s drinking water.

Included within the report is general health information, water quality test results and how to participate in decisions concerning your drinking water and water system contact information.

You can view the report at www.lebanonohio.gov/DocumentCenter/View/165. In 2016 Lebanon’s water met all Ohio EPA standards.

GERMANTOWN

Spring community garage sale May 20-21

The Germantown spring community garage sale will be held May 20, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and May 21, 1-6 p.m.

If you wish to participate in the spring community garage sale, contact the municipal office at 937-855-7255 or 937-855-7270 or via e-mail at knovak@germantown.oh.us by May 11.

You will need to leave your address and your top three sale items you wish to have published.

MORAINE

Senior Wellness Fair May 10

On May 10 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. there will be a Senior Wellness Fair at the Gerhardt Civic Center, 3050 Kreitzer Road.

The fair will feature: free health screenings, blood pressure, body mass index, and COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) screenings.
