Code enforcement officer needed

Bellbrook is accepting resumes for the part-time position of code enforcement officer. This position performs code enforcement duties relating to the Zoning and Property Maintenance Codes. Duties include inspection of properties, responding to complaints, issuing violation notices, communicating with property owners, and keeping detailed records. Hours of work are estimated to average 16 hours per week.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, experience with customer service, and a valid Ohio driver’s license. Experience in municipal code enforcement is preferred.

The salary range is $14-$18 per hour dependent on qualifications.

City seeks assistant city manager

Xenia is seeking an assistant city manager. Qualified applicants will have experience in several of the following areas: human resources, budget/fiscal management, performance measurement, project management, team building, strategic planning and customer service. Experience with or understanding of public safety operations and public utilities is beneficial. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities are essential.

This position requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to possession of a master’s degree in public administration, business administration or a related field or discipline, two years of management and supervisory experience; or combination of education, training and/or experience. Sweet Corn Festival Aug. 19-20

On Aug. 19 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and Aug. 20 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. the city pf Fairborn will hold its annual Sweet Corn Festival at Community Park, 691 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road.

There will be approximately 180 handmade arts and crafts booths and food vendors. You can enjoy the favorites such as steamed cooked sweet corn, pork chop sandwiches, and fresh cut watermelon. There will be arts and crafts for everyone including candles, wood items, jewelry, watercolor and oil paintings, and much more.

All day both days, there are activities for children including pony rides and the Big Bounce. There will be free entertainment both days in the festival area. Parking and admission are also free.
