Calm to start today; rain, showers arrive this afternoon

This morning, we will see mostly cloudy skies before dawn, breaking up somewhat after the sun rises, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. This afternoon, though, we will see a chance of showers and thunderstorms, part of a round of storms expected to last through part of the weekend. The high today will be near 68 degrees. Tonight showers and thunderstorms are likely, with a low of around 52 degrees.

Friday will continue to be rainy, with a high near 63 degrees, followed by more rain overnight with a low near 55 degrees.

Saturday is predicted to repeat Friday’s forecast, with showers and thunderstorms during the day, with a high near 71 degrees. The rain will continue into Saturday night, with a low around 55 degrees.
