First responders found a truck that had exploded on the second floor of a parking garage attached to the Boonshoft Center for Medical Services.
One person was injured in the explosion and was being treated at the hospital emergency room at 3535 Southern Blvd.
The parking garage is used mainly for employees but can be used for emergency room and Kettering College overflow.
The Boonshoft Center for Medical Sciences and Kettering College were both evacuated although the fire was extinguished within a few minutes.
Police and firefighters remained on the scene as of 7:15 p.m.
