Catalytic converters stolen from auto lot

The owners of a Springfield auto lot told police that thieves took two catalytic converters from the property earlier this week.

The call was made to police on Thursday afternoon that the converters had been cut off a Mercury Village and one other vehicle at Coachworks Auto Sales on Lagonda Avenue. They were valued at $200 in total.

The business owners believe the theives somehow got into an area blocked with a chain-link fence. It is possible they went under the fencing, one owner told police.

As of Friday, police had not named any suspects.
