Cedarville U enrolls record number 8th straight year

Cedarville has set a record for enrollment for the eighth consecutive year and has turned in an 88.2 percent freshman-to-sophomore retention rate, the best during its run of record enrollment, the university announced Wednesday.

Total enrollment has climbed to 3,620, passing last year's record of 3,472 and the growth has come primarily from 33.5 percent growth in graduate admissions and a 63.6 percent increase in transfer students, university officials said.

Cedarville has also experienced "a steep increase in high school students in the dual enrollment program.

"The increase of students enrolling this year compared to last year tells me that we are doing a better job of working with the applicants, connecting with them, and communicating with them," said Roscoe Smith, associate vice president for university admissions. "The admissions counseling team did an outstanding job with their applicants and staying connected with them until they arrived on campus."

Cedarville is an accredited, Baptist institution in Greene County that also offers more than 100 areas of study for online students.
