The fire to the feed grain elevator was out before the Celina Fire Department arrived. The structure sustained only minor damage.
A welder may have played a role in the blast. Celina fire officials, along with the state fire marshal, are investigating the incident.
FIRST REPORT
The Celina Fire Department is responding to an explosion at Mercer Landmark Inc. in the 400 block of Market Street. The Celina explosion occurred at a feed grain elevator according residents in the area.
Two people were taken to the hospital in Coldwater. According to dispatch reports, the two people may have suffered burn injuries.
Residents in the area tell us the explosion rocked the area just after 11a.m. and could be felt as far as away as three blocks.
"I heard a big boom and saw a large dust cloud," said Mike Rhodes of Celina.
It appears now that the fire is out and an investigator from the State Fire Marshal's office has been called to the scene.
