SPRINGBORO — Child psychologist Greg Ramey will speak on Thursday, Dec. 3, as The Children’s Medical Center of Dayton’s outpatient center in Springboro celebrates its one year anniversary.
Ramey, a child psychologist at the hospital, will give a presentation to parents on Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at Dayton Children’s Outpatient Care Center — Springboro.
Ramey will discuss “Kids and their Technological Worlds” and also will provide recent research on Internet usage, cell phones and television and some concrete implications for today’s parents.
In the past year, the outpatient center has treated more than 12,000 patients in the urgent care, seen more than 4,500 patients in the lab and medical imaging and provided more than 10,500 therapy sessions and evaluations in the rehabilitative services department.
“This center is all about making it as convenient as possible for parents and families to get specialized pediatric care for their children close to home,” said Matt Graybill, vice president for business development and planning at Dayton Children’s.
In March, the center was officially LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified by the U.S. Green Building Council (USBGC) certification.
Some features of the Springboro facility include a “cool” roof to reduce the energy needed for heating and cooling, energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, new materials from recycled content, a recycling program, and reducing lawn and plant watering needs by 50 percent.
